Join the Balerno group for a 7.5 mile leisurely walk.

Archerfield - Dirleton - Yellowcraig - Black Rocks - Muirfield. Start from Archerfield walled garden car park - fairy trail/willow walk - Dirleton - Yellowcraig - coastal walk to Black Rocks and back to car park via Muirfield. Walking through woods - coastal path - beach with minimal walking on minor roads. Lovely sea views. Refreshments afterwards at Archerfield Walled Garden Cafe.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 7.5 mile strenuous walk.

Stob Breac & An Stuchd from Inverlochlarig. An exploration of two less frequented hills and wide ridge to the south of Inverlochlarig, with views of Loch Katrine further south and Stob Binnein and Ben More to the north. The walk will involve a steep ascent if walked clockwise or alternatively a steep descent if walked anti-clockwise!

Circular to Covenanter's Grave from West Linton. A long walk out to perhaps the loneliest, most remote and atmospheric spot in the Pentlands near the summit of Black Law, to view the grave of a covenanter who had fled into the hills after the battle of Rullion Green in Penicuik in 1666. Mostly on good tracks but one tricky section across rough and boggy moorland. Great views to the Ayrshire hills, on a clear day.  (This walk has been rescheduled from 14th August)

Comrie to Melville Monument circular. Start in Comrie at west end car park, up Glen Lednock to Melville Monument for a super view, returning via Deil's Cauldron.

Circular from Balbirnie, Markinch exploring pleasant parkland and local historic remains, Pitcairn and Coul Den Nature Reserve.  Panoramic views to Bass Rock.  Ascent 50m.  OS Explorer 370.

Gorebridge to Temple linear. Gorebridge Station to Gore Glen, Potters Bridge and on to Temple. Car shuffle involved. After the walk there will be a visit to Alison Kinnear's Exhibition in Temple which is part of the Edinburgh Festival. PD £3.00

A circuit of four Glenshee Munros: Carn an Tuirc (1019m), Cairn of Claise (1064m), Glas Maol (1068m) and Creagh Leacach

Join the Linlithgow group for a 5.0 mile technical walk.

Bike/Scramble - Sgor Iutharn via the Lancet Edge from Dalwhinnie. A cycle from Dalwhinnie to Culra bothy & then walk from there. The cycle is approx 10 miles, mostly on an estate road. The final mile or so requires some bike handling on a narrower rutted 'double' track. The walk is a stalkers path, a boggy section and then a Grade 1 scramble up the Lancet Edge to reach the Munro top, Sgor Iutharn. We may include the Munro Geal Charn. The descent is fairly steep but returns to the stalkers path. Pre-registration is a must to allow bike transport to be arranged.

St. Abb's Head and Coldingham. Go N on roads to the lighthouse at St. Abb's Head. Return by coastal route. Then to St. Abb's village and along the coast as far as Linkim Shore. Inland to Coldingham and back to St.Abb's village by grassy tracks.

Balerno reservoirs circular 120M ascent. Harlaw, Threipmuir and Bavelaw Castle, skirting Black Hill. Paths and moorland tracks.

A walk along the Fife Coastal Path from Inverkeithing to Aberdour.

Mainly flat walk round the Fife coastal villages of Anstruther, Cellardyke, Pittenweem, on Coastal Trail and inland through farmlands and woods

Join the Tweeddale group for a 9.3 mile strenuous walk.

The walk goes up Soonhope past Kittlegairy Hill to Shieldgreen. Ascend to Dunslair Heights. Return by Caresman, Kittlegairy and Soonhope. On forest tracks and paths.

Join the Coldstream group for a 8.0 mile moderate walk.

Halterburn, lower Pennine Way, Old Halterburn, Black Hagg, high Pennine Way, Halterburn.

Join the Edinburgh group for a 4.0 mile easy walk.

This is a joint event between Dundee Family Rambling Group and Edinburgh Family Rambling Group. We will meet in the Car Park at the Centre of Stewardship, Falkland Estate. If you arrive early you can have a picnic before the walk. Suggested donation for Car Park £2. Lots of bridges across the burn, waterfalls and even a waterfall you can walk behind. Could be muddy so wellies or boots advised. Should be lots of fun.

Inverlochlarig (near Balquhidder). A linear walk along the River Larig starting from the site of one of Rob Roy McGregor's houses.

Holyrood Park Circular. We will take the train to Waverley Station, walk down the Royal Mile into Holyrood Park, through Hunter's Bog to Duddingston Loch, returning by the Innocent Railway line.

Circular walk from Dunbar along coast to Barns Ness returning via Battle of Dunbar memorial.

Comrie Circular. Walk on the flank of Ben Halton, then south to Dalclathick and back along the banks of the Water of Ruchill.

Beinn Chabhair. A Munro from the Inverarnan Hotel in Glen Falloch. Weather permitting we will ascend via the north-west ridge, the slightly more strenuous route, and then return via the Ben Glas Burn and Lochan Beinn Chabhair route.

Following the John Muir Way from Blackness back to Linlithgow. Take a bus from Linlithgow to Blackness then walk from there following the John Muir Way back to Linlithgow.

Join the South Queensferry group for a 7.0 mile strenuous walk.

Walk up country tracks over some rougher paths and a small section of tarmac, single track roadway to go over farmland and open moorland in the Pentlands.  Ascent 300m.  OS Explorer 344.

Cramond Bridge to Cramond Island and return. Mainly on good paths. Flight of about 70 steps up and down to negotiate both outwards and returning. Some rough going on Island which can be avoided.

Beinn Fhionnlaidh from Glen Etive. The first (and last) 3km will be from Invercharnan on a forestry track. Then across a river and up steep slopes on rough paths to a rocky summit with minor scrambles and glorious views. Note: this walk was originally listed as a bike/hike with prior booking required, this is no longer the case, it will be a normal walk as the use of bikes is not justified.

Loch Drunkie circular from Brig O'Turk. A lovely forest walk passing along the shores of Loch Drunkie.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 18.0 mile strenuous walk.

The Devil's Point Munro. The Devil's Point from Linn of Dee Bike/hike to a striking Munro in the Cairngorms National Park. Option to extend walk to include Cairn Toul and Sgor an Lochain Uaine (The Angels Peak), weather and time permitting. The route can be cycled easily to Derry Lodge from Linn of Dee (3 miles/5km) and further on to Luibeg Crossing (7km).  You MUST register in advance for this walk – phone 07769 263872/01506 670397.

This is an interesting walk on part of the St Cuthber's Way from Melrose Abbey to Dryburgh Abbey, along the river Tweed seeing sites of Roman Camps and fort

Join the Edinburgh group for a 11.2 mile strenuous walk.

Starting from the A82 at Inveruglas (), heading towards Coiregrogain and then up Ben Vorlich (943m). Time and weather permitting heading towards the dam or retracing our steps partially and climb Ben Vane (916m), before returning via Coire grogain.

Join the South Queensferry group for a 8.0 mile moderate walk.

A riverside walk along the River Tyne including a detour to see Hailes Castle.  Bus from Haddington to East Linton at the start.  Ascent negligible.  OS Explorer 351.

Join the Tweeddale group for a 5.0 mile moderate walk.

From Earlston War Memorial we take the path to Cowdenknowes Mains then ascend to Black Hill. (314m)

We return via Whitefield and Georgefield.

Fife Coastal Walk. Inverkeithing to Burntisland - return by bus. BRING BUS PASSES

Join the Linlithgow group for a 9.3 mile moderate walk.

(Broughton Heights), Trahenna Hill, return by old rail line. Start in Broughton Village, using part of John Buchan Way, up into open glen to path junction. Option to ascend and descend Broughton Heights, adds 4km and 150m of ascent approx. Ascend Hammer Head, steep path through heather beside fence, and then along broad ridge to Trahenna Hill. Good views of Southern Uplands. Descend towards farm at Dreva, short section of road and then the old railway line beside the Tweed then Broughton Burn. Some of this is cattle pasture and is quite muddy.

Clachan of Campsie Circular. A circular walk starting at Clachan of Campsie and taking in Lennoxtown, and Lennox castle. Mostly good tracks and roads but there are muddy patches.

Toby Carvery at Kaimes over Blackford Hill and the Braids to Princes Street

Join the Linlithgow group for a 6.2 mile strenuous walk.

Schiehallion. Possibly Scotlands most iconic conical shaped hill, Schiehallion. Starting from the Braes of Foss car park the path climbs up its wide ridge, to a boulder field near the summit with extensive views from the top.
