For the last walk before the summer holidays we're going to do a lovely walk following the Fife Coastal Path between Aberdour and Burntisland. Very easy to get to on the train from Edinburgh (takes just over 30mins).

We'll meet at the Aberdour station and wander down through the town to join the coastal path past the picturesque harbour. The rest of the walk takes in the Silver Sands beach and some pretty forest with great views across the Forth to Edinburgh the whole way. Paths are good the whole way and its pretty flat apart from a set of steep steps.

Transport: The easiest way to get to and from this walk is by train. The 1315 train from Edinburgh Waverley gets to Aberdour at 1348 so I suggest that is the best option. We can get 1624 back from Burntisland and there is also a later train if we need it.

Note, this is a linear walk, if you want to drive to Aberdour it will easy to get back to your car as the train back from Burntisland passes through Aberdour (or perhaps you'll enjoy the walk so much you'll reverse it).

Equipment & supplies: as ever, being Scotland the weather is variable so you'll likely want sun cream and a hat + waterproofs. There is a good chance children may want to paddle as we're passing beaches so a change of clothes might be useful too!
