Tweedbank to Melrose along the river bank with optional extension of 1.5 miles via Newstead Farm. In Melrose visit the Abbey and Priorwood and Harmony gardens. Path may be muddy
Join the Balerno group for a 8.0 mile moderate walk.From Dunbar swimming pool - Dunbar to Belhaven Bay and return. All on paths - including cliff top - edge of golf course - woodland and a wee bit beach and tarmac. Lovely sea views.
Join the Linlithgow group for a 6.8 mile strenuous walk.The Cobbler (Ben Arthur). The Cobbler has the most distinctive outline of any mountain in the Southern Highlands and makes a fantastic short day out. Extremely popular, the path on the way up has been improved and once past the initial zig zags makes a pleasant ascent. This route explores both peaks of the Cobbler before descending via the South Ridge. Happy to help anyone wishing to "summit".

White Coomb from Loch Skeen by way of Mid Craig and Firthhope Rig, descent by the Grey Mare’s Tail. (This is slightly different from the walk described in TRAIL and will not require a car shuttle.)
Join the Linlithgow group for a 5.3 mile leisurely walk.Bathgate to Torphichen with some geology thrown in, plus a newly-mapped stone circle. Drive to Torphichen (to which the given grid ref relates), park cars, and take bus departing Torphichen 1044, to Bathgate Tesco. Visit Kirkton (geology), then by footpaths to Petershill Nature Reserve (more geology, visit optional). The side of Petershill quarry is steep and slippery, so you need rigid footwear and a walking pole if you wish to explore it. Ascend to The Knock (viewpoint, 300m). Then by path past the silver mines, and down to Torphichen.

Starting from the A82 at Inveruglas (), heading towards Coiregrogain and then up Ben Vorlich (943m). Time and weather permitting heading towards the dam or retracing our steps partially and climb Ben Vane (916m), before returning via Coire grogain.

We take a good track on Venlaw across South Knowe and North Knowe. Take track near Collie Law down to Heathpool Common and Redscarhead. Cross the A703 to Nether Kidston to join the Cross Borders Drove and return to Peebles via Rosetta.

From Tweedbank Station, River Tweed Walkway, Gala Hill, town centre gardens and Langlees Community Woodland. Panoramic town views. Ascent 150m. OS Explorer 338.
Join the Balerno group for a 6.5 mile moderate walk.Start at car park next to ruins of Newbyres Castle. Descend Main Street and head to Scotland’s first Gunpowder Mill. Cross A7 to Gore Glen following Gore Water to Trotter’s Bridge. Skirt around the edges of Gorebridge to climb to Common Wood. Descend using farm tracks and quiet roads. Gaiters advised and walking poles optional.

Kingseat and Townhill Circuit. This circular walk explores farmland and woodland in the north east of Dunfermline. Most of the walking is on reasonable paths and tracks. The walk will start and end at the Town Loch Waterski Centre. (This walk has been rescheduled from 24th July)

Join the Linlithgow group for a 9.9 mile strenuous walk.Beinn a' Chaorainn and Beinn Teallach. Two Munros from Glen Spean. A forest track, followed by boggy slopes up to stunning views of Loch Treig and the Grey Corries. The delightful summit ridge then gives views down to dramatic corries and across to Creag Meagaidh. Back down wet slopes and up to a rocky ridge and the second summit which has the mixed blessing of having been promoted in 1984 to become the lowest Munro. The return route requires a river crossing which can be negotiated higher up if necessary.

Walk Details. B+ 9.5 miles, 537m ascent
We’ll walk up through Cardrona Forest on lovely walking trails, meandering through the trees. We’ll take our time as it’s a slow climb all the way until we reach the top of Cardrona forest where we’ll stop for a well earned cuppa. We’ll then traverse Yellow Mire, skirting around the side of Birks Hill, to join the cross Borders drove road. We’ll follow the drove road on the steady ascent up Kirkhope Law (537m) where we might stop for lunch if it’s not too blowy. You’ll be rewarded with fabulous open views down the Tweed Valley as we follow this spectacular drovers road along the heathery hills to Kailzie Hill and down Gypsy Glen into Peebles.

A walk up through forestry plantations to Ben Gullipen, then continuing over Beinn Dearg and on along the remarkable flat-topped ridge which extends southwest from Beinn Dearg for about 2km. Return via Loch Venachar to make a circular route.
