Join the Balerno group for a 7.5 mile moderate walk.

coast bays and dunes. Aberlady nature reserve - Gullane Point - Black Rocks - Wreaklaw Rocks - Yellowcraig.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 10.0 mile moderate walk.

Ballinluig to Dunkeld. A linear walk from Ballinluig to Dunkeld along quiet country roads, farm tracks and forest roads. High along the Tay valley with excellent views. Remember your bus pass as travel by bus to the start of the walk.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 5.5 mile leisurely walk.

Local walk from Linlithgow to Bo'ness. A walk from Linlithgow to Bo'ness via the back of the loch, the Grange, Kinneil House and the Roman fortlet. Return to Linlithgow by bus. (This walk has been rescheduled from 27th February)

Pool of Muckart circular. Wester Cornhill, head of Dollar Glen, Glenquey Reservoir, hillside west above Castlehill reservoir, foot of Seamab Hill (ascent optional), Pool of Muckart. PD £6.50

Linear Craster to Bamburgh along coastal path via Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton and Seahouses. Negligible ascent.

Join the Livingston group for a 10.3 mile strenuous walk.

Including Meall Garbh and An Stuc.  Part of the Lawers range with steep ascent and scrambles

Join the Edinburgh group for a 7.1 mile strenuous walk.

A Graham of "character" the ascent of which is a great walk with stunning views from the summit.

Next walk Saturday 27 April Grade C, 5 miles

This is a leisurely morning circular walk from Dawyck Gardens which will take approx 2.5 hours. After the walk you will have the opportunity to lunch in the cafe and to visit the gardens. Admission to the gardens is £7 or concession £6 (over 60's and students). Meet 10am at Dawyck Gardens car park NT168352. Or if you wish to car share meet at 9am at the Currie Road car park, NT496358, just along from Asda in Galashiels. There is no time limit and no charge for this car park. Car share will be £4 per person which will be divided between all of the drivers.

Join the South Queensferry group for a 7.0 mile moderate walk.

Superb waymarked trail runs through the woods on the north side of Loch Katrine offering stunning views over the water.  Ascent 300m.  OS Explorer 365.

From Peebles P.O. we will catch the 12pm borders bus to Lyne station a 10 minute journey.

This is not a circular walk so if you come by car leave your car in Peebles.

From Lyne station we will walk back to Peebles. This is a lovely, varied and scenic walk taking us by way of charming meadows and along the banks of the river Tweed and also includes a walk into an exciting dark tunnel, a viaduct and sight of a castle! There may be frolicking lambs too...

Bring torches!

To fit in with the buses we will be setting off at noon so bring a packed lunch with you and we will have a picnic lunch early in the walk.

The bus 62 from Edinburgh leaves the bus station at 10.20am (a few minutes later at the Bridges)

The Edinburgh bus should arrive in plenty of time for us to catch the Lyne Station bus 91 at midday. 1.80p for adult and 90p for child to get to the start of the walk.
There is a bakers opposite the P.O. where you can buy a sandwich etc for the picnic if required.

Circular from Athelstaneford via Gilmerton Woods and Crauchie

Join the Tweeddale group for a 10.6 mile strenuous walk.

 

Catch the 10.40 bus from Aberdour to Kirkcaldy then follow the Fife Coastal Path back to Aberdour

Quarry Mill on A93 (just outside Perth) via Den of Scone - Balcraig - McDuff’s Monument - Lynedoch Obelisk - return by Murrayshall and Balgarvie.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 8.4 mile moderate walk.

Sron a Chlachain, Meall Clachach and Finlarig Castle from Killin. As well as the hills, there are some interesting historical features around Killin.

Cairneyhill to Dean Plantation. The walk starts in the village of Cairneyhill (West Fife). It takes advantage of the nearby West Fife Cycle Way and a network of connecting farm tracks and rights of way to reach the Dean Plantation. We will also be walking on some quiet country roads. (Please note, when I carried out the recce there was one gate to climb over and one stile. Some paths were overgrown and within the Plantation there were lots of tree roots underfoot.)

Join the Linlithgow group for a 8.4 mile strenuous walk.

Beinn Narnain & Beinn Ime via the Spearhead route. Beinn Ime has a simple slope when approached from this direction. Beinn Narnian has a much rougher and rockier character. The views - especially of the nearby Cobbler - are excellent. Rocky terrain, steep and eroded path on Beinn Narnain with very mild scrambling. Beinn Ime is a broad dome on this side and the return route has a good path.

Bengengie Hill from Alva. Alva Glen, Bengengie Hill, Colsnaur Hill, Balquharn, Alva Glen. Great hill walk; some steep ascent.

Join the Coldstream group for a 8.5 mile moderate walk.

Starting at the Scottish Borders/East Lothian border on the Longformacus road we pass Kilpallet and over Wether Law and to the reservoir by Priestlaw and Penshiel

Join the South Queensferry group for a 7.0 mile easy walk.

A walk on the Fife Coastal Path around Fife Ness and returning inland to Crail.  Ascent 50m.  OS Explorer 371

Join the Edinburgh group for a 3.1 mile leisurely walk.

Circular walk and picnic celebrating the opening of the Cairnbank road Track.

Join the Balerno group for a 8.0 mile moderate walk.

From Dunbar swimming pool - Dunbar to Belhaven Bay. All on paths including cliff top path - some tarmac - beach walking - woodland paths. Lovely views out to sea.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 10.9 mile moderate walk.

Fife Coastal Path Elie to Crail. Mixture of roads, paths and shore side tracks, starting in Elie with bus back from Crail. Great coastal scenery and passing through East Neuk of Fife fishing villages of St Monans, Pittenweem and Anstruther.

Callander under Crags. Circular at Callander, under Crags, R. Teith, Roman camp, Auchenlaich long Barrow, Bracklinn Falls.

Williamscraig. Walk up Preston Road to the canal, west as far as Williamscraig and back by the road past the golf course.

Join the Livingston group for a 5.6 mile leisurely walk.

and Gullane Point. A circular walk that heads throught the nature reserve at Aberlady to take in the fine sandy beach before continuing to the village of Gullane and returning inland.  A variety of paths throught dunes and along sandy beaches returning on made up paths from Gullane. Toilets at the start

Join the Linlithgow group for a 14.0 mile strenuous walk.

Beinn Mheadhonach from Glen Tilt. Starting from the Old Bridge of Tilt car park, Beinn Mheadhonach (Corbett, 901m) is a narrow wedge of moorland with a fine approach up Glen Tilt. Good tracks and paths in Glen Tilt, then indistinct paths on the open hill. Return by the same route.

A long weekend based in Durness. Leader staying at the Lazy Crofter Bunkhouse but other options available. Plan is to tackle some Corbetts in NW Sutherland.

Beecraigs and Cockleroy. Walk round the loch, through the woods and up Cockleroy (optional). Return through the woods.

Join the South Queensferry group for a 6.0 mile moderate walk.

Circular walk on pavement, countryside and riverside tracks through woods and over a golf course.  Ascent 300m.  OS Explorer 379

Join the Eildon Ramblers group for a 13.0 mile moderate walk.

B grade costal walk the max. height gained is 40m at any point on route but the total ascent during walk amounts to 200m.

Join the Balerno group for a 8.0 mile moderate walk.

Auchnafree Hill (Corbett) from Glen Turret Dam. Loch Turret, Auchnafree Hill, then back along ridge tracks. PD £11.50

Join the Livingston group for a 12.4 mile moderate walk.

A strenuous circular route on the Southern Upland Way to Braidsawrig, Bermuda and return via Dabshead Hill through Edgar Hope wood.  Hill tracks and country lanes can be muddy in places.  Some easy stiles.  Can be shortened if weather bad

Peel and Yair Circular. Terrain - Mainly fields, woodland paths,tracks and road.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 7.8 mile strenuous walk.

Beinn Tulaichean and Cruach Ardrain. Starting from Inverlochlarig we ascend to Beinn Tulaichean and then continue to Cruach Ardrain. We return to the col between the two and descend east to meet a grassy track back to the parking.

Join the Linlithgow group for a 6.8 mile moderate walk.

Glen Ogle Trail. Circular from Lochearnhead using part of the disused viaduct of Glenogle to carry the Callander to Oban railway (closed 1965). A few gates and stiles en route.

Lochore Meadows Circular. A walk round Lochore Loch and over Harran Hill.

Bus to Wishaw then walk back using River Clyde Walkway with detour via Dalzell Park and Baronshaugh RSPB Nature Reserve.  Ascent 100m.  OS Explorer 343.

Dalkeith to Dalhousie Castle and return along the Esk

Ben Cleuch. A justifiably popular walk. The route ascends the Law to the top with the descent via Ben Ever and Mill Glen.
